Leave the Expensive Camera at Home

Here’s the deal. That smartphone in your pocket is going to take better pictures every time then even the most expensive SLR. Why? Because its a world class camera that’s instantly accessible ready for you to see the moment and capture it perfectly — while you’re still struggling to zoom the lens and select your F stop on the SLR.

And also — do you really want to be that person with what looks like a compensatory appendage around your neck screaming - I’m a tourist and don’t belong here. Unless you’re a pro, does it really matter that your dynamic range might be slightly lower then on a $1500 Nikon? And remember — the greatest photographers use fixed lenses anyway — because they know the best pictures are where you get as close as possible to your subject — not zoom in from a distance.
